Steven J Ferguson, OD

 

Dr. Steven J Ferguson is a 1987 graduate of the University of Houston, earning his Optometry Physician’s Degree with honors.  He is former president of the Minnesota Optometric Association and was named Minnesota’s first ever Young Optometrist of the Year. While practicing in Minnesota, he helped launch therapeutic legislation for the optometric profession and was part of a task force that created a Centers for Disease Control-recognized conference, Diabetes and the Eye, at the Mayo Clinic.

 

He has given over 20 invited lectures across the United States on topics ranging from contemporary glaucoma diagnosis to innovation in dry eye and MGD treatments. Dr. Ferguson has authored, coauthored or contributed to numerous articles published in professional journals, including Ophthalmology Management, Review of Optometry and Advanced Ocular Care.

 

Dr. Ferguson is a nationally recognized leader in dry eye treatment who has participated in clinical studies for TearScience® regarding LipiFlow® patient acceptance.  He serves as a medical board advisory member for eyeBrain Medical of Newport Beach, Calif., and an optometry board advisor for TearScience of Morrisville, N.C. He continues as an Alpha investigator for SightSync® technology.

 

He founded Dunes Eye Consultants and Dunes LASIK Center in 2003 with the specific goal of providing personalized, attentive and outcome-based well-vision care. Additionally, Dr. Ferguson provides specialty care for diabetic eye health, glaucoma, medically necessary contact lenses, headache management and vision preservation.

 

He also serves as co-clinical director for Dunes Eye Consultants’ Myopia Control Center.

 

Dr. Ferguson and his wife, Lisa, have three children:  Dr. Austin Ferguson (29) and his wife Dr. Jena, Tanner (27) and his wife Dr. Kayla and Taylor (20).  He enjoys golf, fly fishing, wine and traveling.

 

Michael O’Neal, OD

 

Dr. Michael O’Neal earned his Optometry Physician’s Degree from the University of Houston, which is one of the leading optometric research institutions in the world, where he achieved the highest national board scores in his class. O’Neal earned his bachelor of science degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

 

Dr. O’Neal focuses on comprehensive well-vision exams for patients of all ages, including routine exams, diabetic eye care, pediatric eye care, as well as other vision-medical diagnoses and treatments.

 

Additionally, Dr. O’Neal leads the Myopia Control Center at Dunes Eye Consultants, where, using specialty contact lenses, the clinical team can slow or even stop the progression of nearsightedness in children.

A native of Whiting, Iowa, O’Neal is a traveler and outdoor enthusiast.

 

 When not cheering on the Broncos or the Hawkeyes, he volunteers coaching the Dakota Valley basketball team.

 

Hercules Logothetis, MD

 

Hercules Logothetis, MD, brings with him not only a passion to help others through laser vision correction, but also an extensive background in LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICL, KAMRA corneal inlays, PTK, corneal cross linking, conductive keratoplasty, refractive cataract surgery, YAG vitreolysis and multiple MIGS. He is experienced with multiple laser platforms including VISX, Allegretto, EX500 Wavelight, Nidek, Visumax and Intralase.

 

Dr. Logothetis was deeply involved in trials with the light adjustable lens, which allows for post-cataract surgery adjustment for the most accurate outcomes. He is also one of the first surgeons in the Midwest to work with the RxSight light adjustable lens for implantation during cataract surgery.

 

Hailing from Chicago, Dr. Logothetis completed his fellowship in cataract and refractive surgery and residency in ophthalmology following his successful academic careers at Northwestern University and University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. Also, notably, Dr. Logothetis performed cataract surgery for underserved communities in India and spent six months living in Athens, Greece, where he volunteered in several hospitals and studied modern Greek language.
